A series of fun family fall getaways events occur, including the four November and December “Sea Tales” events, the Nov. 9 Family Fun Zone Fridays, and the Dec. 1 Christmas at the Beach. In what promises to be a special community experience, live entertainment, arts, galleries and food are all part of the action. The Sea Tales are unique each time, bringing special story times for fun ocean facts the whole family will take home.

The race is on to raise money on Tustin Public School Foundation’s annual special day of fun racing. If you missed online registration, you can still register in person at Dick’s Sporting Goods on Friday, Nov. 2 from 1 p.m to 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m or on Sunday before the event at 6:15 a.m. The fall family fun continues with food, games and general merriment for the whole family. The Dinosaur Dash provides a delightful event full of activities that support education.

Orange County’s sole outdoor ice rink brings in the whole family for fall fun. This opening, containing both substance and spectacle, is located in Giant Wheel Court. Session times vary. The ice is resurfaced between each session. Open skating is available Monday through Thursday.
Weed Warrior Volunteers is a volunteer activity preventing negative wildlife effects. November to March is the time for the Monitoring Avian Winter Survival program, which is done non-chemically (with no pesticides), by hand. As autumn readies for winter, Dec. 15 brings the Christmas Bird Count.
