Join the 2nd annual NYE extravaganza at the Orange County Great Park for a family-friendly celebration on Eastern time at 9 p.m. There will be carnival-style games, a scavenger hunt, military vehicle displays, arts and crafts activities for children, street entertainers, carousel rides, art exhibitions, good food in a safe, non-alcoholic environment. Admission is free and parking is $10 per car. The event starts at 5 p.m.
New Year’s Eve on the Square

Decorate your own hat to wear during the procession through the Civic Center, listen to live music, dance, eat and have a blast at the NYE on the Square. There will be two “Grape Drops” — one on Eastern time and one on Western time — to ring in the new year. The evening festivities begin at 3 p.m. at the Civic Center.

There is no better place to spend NYE than at the happiest place on earth. On New Year’s Eve, there will be celebrations of a grand-Mickey-kind happening all around Disneyland. The NYE Countdown Central will happen at Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle starting at 9 p.m. with a DJ and appearances from Mickey and Minnie. A “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks extravaganza will welcome in 2013 at the stroke of midnight.
Kids New Year’s Eve at LEGOLAND

Ring in 2013 at 6 p.m. at Legoland in sunny Carlsbad. Just like Times Square, this family-friendly celebration will include live music, fireworks and a live Lego brick drop from 22 feet to ring in the New Year. The celebration starts at 2:30 p.m. and the brick drop and fireworks will conclude the evening at 6 p.m.
