Just off the 101 Freeway lies Westlake Village, an affluent suburban enclave offering terrific shopping and restaurants galore. Straddling the line of L.A. Get your tee time in! The Westlake Golf Course is conveniently located in an area with beautiful views of the Santa Monica mountain range. Early in the morning or late at night, there is access to 18 holes with discounted rates for twilight play and senior hitters, as well as reduced pricing for cart rentals after 11am. If you prefer the driving range, the lighted course will make it easy for night time hitting.

Accessed from Triunfo Creek Park, these two trails total about six miles together, so there's plenty of time to admire the beautiful surroundings and work up a sweat. During the late spring and early summer, keep your eyes peeled for the Pentachaeta Trail's namesake endangered flower, as well as the Las Virgenes Reservoir, Westlake Reservoir and nearby Boney Mountain. Nature here is exceptionally beautiful.

Opened a few years ago, the Tasting Room at the Four Seasons Westlake is a collaborative effort with Malibu Family Wines, featuring blends from the local winery as well as other notable California wines. While sipping on delicious wine, be sure to order a cheese plate or snack on spiced nuts. At The Discovery Center for Science and Technology, lovers of Science can explore the exhibits provided by this non-profit organization. The group, which is a "museum without walls", aims to teach children and teenagers about science, technology, engineering and more in this "museum without walls." The Science Speaker Series, which is presented by experts and intended for the general public and high school students, kicks off in October. Other events will be posted on the Discovery Center's website throughout the year as well.

With educational programs, lectures and outdoor activities, Chumash Indian Museum's purpose and mission is to preserve the culture and legacy of the Chumash Indians. As the original inhabitants of the surrounding areas, the Chumash Indians' Museum is surrounded by natural beauty including lush meadows, and large oak groves. In addition to a variety of wildlife, visitors find unique landscapes as well within the park. Keep an eye out for scheduled nature hikes, or help organize a school field trip for a class of children. You can also purchase a membership to help support the work and growth of the museum.
