2150 California Ave. #102
Corona, CA 92881
This uber-clean and popular nail salon located in south Corona came to not only survive but thrive under some of the toughest economic conditions when it first opened fiv years ago. “The economy took a dive six months before we opened, and we spent and gave all we had to this salon,” co-owner Thomas Irwin said. “Luckily our customers helped out, and word of mouth spread. Now we have clients coming in from as far away as Big Bear and San Diego.” Why is there such loyalty to this particular salon? “We use only high quality products like O.P.I., and we give priority to clients who have taken the time to make appointments,” says Irwin. “We want people to come back, and we train our staff to be friendly. We are not the cheapest salon out there, but here if you spend $50 on a service you get your $50 worth.” Special packages and promotional events like “Wine-down Wednesdays,” where clients can enjoy a glass of wine with their treatment, have also been a hit. Also of utmost importance at Orchard Nails is cleanliness; each implement is run through an autoclave per the salon’s website, and the process is done after each client. Quality and cleanliness? Sounds like a winning combination. Orchard Nails is open seven days a week.
Theory Nail Lounge
141 W. Foothill Blvd. #A
Upland, CA 91786
Forget the traditional nail salon. If you’re in the market for a truly unique, adults-only nail service, Theory Nail Lounge may just be what you’re searching for. This nail lounge takes an unorthodox approach to their services, offering not only the standard manicure, pedicure, and other services, but the lounge also offers beer and wine to clients as well. This specific feature offers the opportunity for guests to indulge and relax with a beverage should they so choose, and because of this feature the salon does not book services for guests younger than 21 years old. Theory Nail Lounge also does not use the traditional “spa chair” in their salon, due to their belief in the risk of infection with using such, and instead they opt to use a disposable liner that is thrown away after each client. The range of services includes everything from gel manicures, pedicures, threading, waxing, and even body services. This holiday season clients can also enjoy extended hours; not normally open on Tuesdays, Theory Nail Lounge will be open on Tuesdays between Nov. 20 and Jan. 1, 2013 to accommodate client need.
