Whether it be the warm Inland Empire sun in the summer, or a cool watery shower any time of the year, if you're in need of a place to play and eat with the kids check these places out.

Located in gorgeous downtown Temecula, Pennypickle's Workshop is a child's imagination wonderland. Set up to imitate Professor Pennypickle's home, the 7,500-square-foot "workshop" is full of scientific discoveries, mazes, lights, puzzles and fun. There is a large eating area to eat lunch or snack if you need a break from all the science fun.

Although the Cove is only open for the hot Inland Empire summer season (this year, May 25 through Sept. 2), it is the place to go to cool off for families. No outside food is currently allowed at The Cove; however the Backyard Grille offers some family favorites. There are plenty of tables and lounge chairs located around the large Lil' Mates Lagoon.

Child's Play is an indoor, temperature-controlled playground designed for kids 6 months to 6 years old. The entire facility is located in one large room where your child can be seen from any angle. Complete with a swimming lagoon, fishing lake, splash park, super fun play equipment area, plenty of green grass and water slides you and your family can go and stay all day!
