When the temperature rises, swimming pools are where the bikini-clad set migrates for a veritable oasis in the concrete jungle. The city’s finest hotels open their doors to the public to host summer pool parties. This is the quintessential daytime ritual of the season for skin-baring, bathing beauties and beaus. Get your sunscreen on; it’s time to party.

Tropicana Pool

7000 Hollywood Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90028
(323) 466-7000

Located at the historic Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood amid towering palm trees, the Tropicana pool is the only pool in town that has an underwater mural painted on it by painter David Hockney. The Tropicana Pool Bar is poolside, offering refreshments to fuel the fun and debauchery.

In perfect form, there will be a rotating DJ roster for your scantily-clad dancing pleasure. Talent such as Rick Rude, Just Jack, Goldfingers, ESKAE, Johnny Abrams and more will be cranking out the tunes that will make you want to move. Honorable mention goes to a Sunday Funday set by DJ Novos and DJ choBOT; let’s hope to hear more from them through the rest of pool season.

With its coveted locale, you can bet there will be a door — it’s a day club, after all. While all guests are welcome to try their luck at the door, the best way to guarantee entry is by booking bottle service. Call the hotel to make reservations. Pool parties will run from Memorial Day through Labor Day on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Swim Nights begin May 28 and run on Tuesdays through the end of summer.
