Guide To The 2nd Annual Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival

The 2015 Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival sponsored by American & Southern Wine & Spirits is returning to the California Riviera for an encore presentation this October. Food and wine aficionados are in store for a truly memorable epicurean weekend uniting master chefs and sommeliers from around the world over the course of three days. The coastal community of Newport Beach is the prime location to celebrate the latest trend and culinary shift of iconic culinary talent migrating to Orange County in the midst of a fine-dining renaissance.
 
To celebrate the festival's sophomore year, guests will have the chance to attend live celebrity chef cooking demonstrations by Rick Bayless, Hubert Keller, and Rick Moonen, elite sommelier panels including Fred Dame and Michael Jordan (Somm), chef book signings, mixology courses, two Grand Tasting Pavilions and jazz lounge, the Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival will highlight flavors and tastings from culinary giants and wine and spirit experts. This culinary fete promises to showcase everything wonderful Newport Beach has to offer with all net proceeds going to benefit Project Hope Alliance.

Daytime Festival

On Saturday and Sunday Daytime Festival ticket holders will experience live cooking demonstrations with Bravo's "Top Chef Masters" Season 1 Finalists Rick Bayless, Hubert Keller and Rick Moonen, while "Top Chef" Season 11 Finalists Shirley Chung and Louis Maldonado lead the first Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival Top Chef Home Cook Challenge. Chef Bayless will also be cooking in one of the Grand Tasting Pavilions where he will personally serve cuisine from his acclaimed Newport Beach restaurant RED O. (Single Day Tickets: $150 / Weekend Pass: $250)

Regional Talent

Guests will indulge in tastings prepared by executive chefs of local restaurants while mingling with the community's long-time favorites, rising stars and newest culinary leaders. Participants include: RED O, TWENTY EIGHT, The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar, Studio at the Montage Laguna Beach, Oak Grill and Aqua Lounge, Pelican Grill, Mastro's Steakhouse, Mastro's Ocean Club, Canaletto Ristorante Veneto, Driftwood Kitchen, Tamarind of London, True Food Kitchen, Filomena's Italian Kitchen, Babette's, Honda Center, B Candy, Selanne Steak Tavern, AnQi Gourmet Bistro & Noodle Bar, Tommy Bahama, Fig & Olive, Montage Laguna Beach, The Loft at Montage Laguna Beach, Del Frisco's Grille, Oak Grill and Aqua Lounge, Boathouse Collective, Andrea at Pelican Hil, Roy's and Slapfish.

The Charity Event and Launch Party

Mark your calendar for The Charity Event and Launch Party taking place at Oak Grill & Aqua Lounge at the Island Hotel Newport Beach on Friday, October 2nd featuring seasonal cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Marc Johnson. From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. guests, celebrity chefs and festival participants will have the opportunity to indulge their senses underneath the stars while enjoying bites, sips, live music and a silent auction complete with one-of-a-kind experiences. The evening will benefit Charity Partner, Project Hope Alliance. Tickets are $125.

With "Tasting experiences for every gourmand," Tickets can be purchased directly through the Newport Wine & Food Festival Website where they offer a wide range of options including: General Admission, VIP Daytime Tickets, Riedel Master Glass Tasting and Seminar, The VIP Launch Party & Charity Event, Weekend Passes and an All-Inclusive Weekend Pass for the full experience. Ticket for the festival are currently on sale and range from $150 to $425.
