Guide To Los Angeles' VegFest

The nonprofit annual vegan food and outdoor festival will be taking place at Woodley Park on May 1, 2016 with a mission to create a fun event that inspires and promotes healthy living, compassion for all animals (including human), and environmental awareness. At VegFest Los Angeles, guests will be able to enjoy over 150 vendors, a global food court, children's entertainment, food demos, animal adoptions, live music and the Oasis Beer and Wine Garden. Additionally, the festival will have inspiring speakers on topics related to the environment, social justice, animal rights and healthy living.

Along with free admittance, there will also be free street parking at VegFest. For lot parking though, it's just $5. The festival is also offering a Oasis VIP package (only 50 available) for $75 which will include 1 free customized VegFest Los Angeles 16 ounce beer glass, 2 drink tickets for the Oasis, a fully loaded VIP gift bag and access to the special VIP-only line at the Oasis bar

For VegFest LA, they'll be offering six flavors of brownies including dark chocolate, double espresso, s'mores, and caramel pecan. The special for the day will be their brownie sundae which includes a warm chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream and choice of sauce and toppings.

Divine Dips Vegan Ice Crème is a premium non-dairy dessert, which is artisanally crafted from a blend of organic coconut milk, almond milk, raw cashews, and sweetened with organic agave nectar. At the festival they will be serving 12 ice creme flavor varieties, including (but not limited to): chocolate raspberry truffle, caffé no-lait, infinite mint, maple cardamom; along with ice creme sandwiches made with their gf/vegan sea salt chocolate chip cookies or double chocolate chip cookie. And topping selections include: homemade warm chocolate sauce, fresh raspberry sauce, vegan whipped creme, toasted almonds, raw cacao nibs.

Greenspan's Grilled Cheese is teaming up with Field Roast in using their Chao Cheese on some new delicious Greenspan's Grilled Cheese vegan sandwiches including their Classic Grilled Cheese, The Tomater, The Boom, Melrose Ave, as well as Chao "cheese" Fries, Dirty Chao "cheese" Fries. Leonie McDonald creates her tasty meals by using all natural ingredients from her native Jamaica and she recently added Ziggy Marley Organics (ZMO) coconut oils to prepare all her dishes. At the festival, she will be serving Strictly Vegan's famous Reggae Wrap, Love Salad, the attendee favorite Curry Tofu and the ever popular Gluten Free Bowl loaded with plenty of protein including quinoa and tropical salsa will also be on the menu. All meals will be served with Jamaican-style rice & beans, sweet fried plantains, kale salad mix and avocado.

This year's festival will not only feature amazing food from 40+ food booths, but there will also be a number of guest speakers, live music and food demos. Some of the talented speakers include John Salley, the NBA star, and health advocate known for hosting "The Best Damn Sport Show," as well as Gene Baur, Author and President of Farm Sanctuary. There will also be cooking demos from PCRM, Mr. & Mrs. Vegan among many others. Along with animal adoptions and a Kids' Kingdom, guests can enjoy live music from Nina & Randa, GrooveSession, the Turners, and many others throughout the festival.

The non-profit event, which is volunteer-run, highlights healthy living, the environment, social justice, and animal rights. Proceeds will go towards Towards Freedom, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to inspire people to live with compassion in all areas of their lives, as well as educating the public through educational events and other appropriate avenues on topics such as environmental protection, animal protection and social justice.
