Feeling out of sorts because you're single by choice or circumstance, and Valentine's Day is knocking at your door? No worries. The City of Angels offers plenty of sweet options from which to choose. Some of the best soul-searching ways to boost your spirits include becoming an active volunteer at an animal shelter, children's hospital or food bank. You can also give a gift of life by donating needed blood or plasma at American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles. Joining a group of untethered fun-seekers and treating a devoted friend or relative to a special event can turn your frown upside down, as well.
