Manhattan Beach native Gary Sweeney is a brilliant artist that has created an incredibly poignant tribute to his family in transforming his childhood home into an outdoor gallery of the family photos. Sweeney was offered high dollar for the property and with retirement knocking at his door, he crafted a moving testament to his father's legacy by printing massive images from the family photo albums and cover the house with them. Sweeney will finally part with the home at the end of the month, but the house serves as a touching example of the old saying about a house being a home.

A fixture in the South Bay of Los Angeles, the largest endless pier on the California coastline has been wrecked and restored seven different times due to weather, fire, and the normal wear and tear that happens with a structure that's well over 100 years old. The scenic stretch that sits some 25 feet above the water is one of the best beach walks imaginable and offers great dining options, entertainment, and amenities that make the pier of Redondo a destination.
