Sugar Plum is a store of crafts and “delicacies” orientated to every holiday season, and after 36 years of arts and crafts festivals, this celebration of summer brings out the unique. You can preview items at the online gallery. For gift giving or for the home, these products include yard and garden decor, jewelry, home decorations, antiques and collectibles, personalized gifts, jewelry and clothing. With two locations, the Buena Park Downtown Mall and the OC Fair and Event Center, they want the public to know everyone is welcome.

Throughout the summer, Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles has the work of over 100 artisans on display and for sale. Old Warehouse No. 10 is an ongoing craft fair featuring the work of designers, craft artists and artisanal food chefs. In the upcoming months, Warehouse No. 9 will have its renovations completed to become a venue for a regional brewery with a tasting room, small restaurants and produce stands. Amid the “vibrant patchwork” of stalls, a perusal will find “handmade happiness” and “one-of-a-kind treasures.” For craft people and shoppers, it’s a chance to meet many of the Southland’s best makers of fine crafts, and there are daily demonstrations for do-it-yourselfers

Sawdust Art Festival’s 48th Annual Summer Show takes the summer on with the best crafts and fine art of Laguna Beach and the South Coast. From textiles to jewelry, paintings to blown glass and photographs to ceramics, it’s a “mix of fine art and craft.” The artisans are waiting to share their creative talents by answering questions and putting on demonstrations. Collectors and enthusiasts have an opportunity to gain insight and a greater appreciation of craftsmanship, and for the novice it’s an education. New to the event is Chamber Music Sundays, and there is the Children’s Art Booth and Sawdust Studio One.
