Orange County doesn't have a lot of professional sports teams, but when it comes to places to eat before you head to the game, our fair county has no shortage. Once you have your tickets for the game, your toughest decision might be where to enjoy your pregame meal. From traditional bar food to seafood, here are some of the best places to visit before heading to a game.

Danny K's

Danny K's Billiards and Sports Bar

1096 N. Main St.
Orange, CA 92867
(714) 771-9706

When you go to Danny K's, you'll find a full menu of everything from soups and appetizers to steaks and burritos. If you can't find something to eat here before you go to the game, then you quite possibly just don't like food. In addition to the menu, you'll also find billiards tables and the NTN trivia game. With 25 taps, this place also has you covered if you're looking for something other than mass-produced light beers before you head to the game. Danny K's is two miles east of Angels Stadium, so plan for the traffic you'll encounter.

This might seem like an odd choice because it's nowhere near the stadium of either of the pro teams in Orange County. However, if you're heading by train to a game in San Diego, then pop in to the Swallow's Inn, particularly on Monday nights. On those nights, The Swallow's offers steak, a potato and veggies -- the perfect pregame meal. The bar is fully stocked, the prices are pretty reasonable and the walls and ceiling are adorned with all sorts of bric-a-brac including cartoonishly large bras. Knock back a couple at this cowboy bar and then head to the train station just down the street to make your way to the game.

If you want something more than the usual bar food before you head to the game, then TAPS is the place for you. Here you can get everything from oysters to pasta and steaks. TAPS also has a tremendous selection of beers to enjoy with your food, the kind of beer that makes you scoff at the swill served at the stadium. TAPS is about 10 miles from the stadiums in Anaheim, so this is the place to visit if you leave work early before you head to the stadium.

Less than three miles from the stadium, you'll find a great seafood place where you can get some of your favorite bar food like quesadillas and chicken wings. You'll also find a great selection of seafood, including a daily selection of fresh oysters. If looking for a libation or two, choose from the many beers on draft and in bottles and cans. And let's face it, nothing gets you more in the mood for a game than a couple beers.

Orange, CA 92867

If getting some food before the game is good, then getting food served by shapely women in skimpy outfits is even better. The Salty Dawg has an excellent array of bar food, including wings and sandwiches. It also has good beers to wash that food down. And yes, you'll have to go with beer as The Salty Dawg doesn't carry any liquor, not that you have any reason to complain about that. At three miles from the stadium, The Salty Dawg is not within easy walking distance so plan your transportation accordingly.
