Falafel is one of those Mediterranean dishes even carnivores can't resist, with deep fried seasoned chickpea (or fava bean) patties stuffed into fresh pita bread and topped with tahini sauce, pickled vegetables and salad greens. Santee Street in downtown Los Angeles is best known for great deals on retail. It's also the best place to grab something to eat. This Atwater Village go-to eatery has some of the best falafels (and many other dishes) in the area.
