On National Taco Day, there is no place like The Raymond 1886 in sunny Pasadena. There is no shortage of tacos at SOL Cocina Playa Vista on National Taco Day this year! In fact, there are 14 traditional specialty tacos on the menu to be exact, with something for everyone. Bite into the succulent Short Rib Taco topped with red chile salsa, a fire-spiced Viper Taco with grilled chicken, melted cheese and ghost chile, as well as three vegetarian options, including a Spice-Roasted Butternut Squash with crispy onions, roasted green chile salsa and red pepper salsa. Bring the best of land and sea together in one tortilla with the Filet & Shrimp ‘El Jefe’ which includes grilled Angus filet, two agave-chile shrimp, melted cheese and sliced avocado. Get bang for your buck with duck and devour the one-of-a-kind ‘Canarditas’ Duck, a deep-fried duck leg confit served with corn tortillas and accompaniments of tequila-laced blackberry Serrano salsa Envinada, avocado, cilantro and onion. Juicy bite-sized shrimp are offered three different ways, highlighted in the Shrimp Taco Dorado with chipotle-garlic shrimp, Jack cheese, mango salsa, guacamole and cilantro and the Fish Taco Gobernador with garlic sautéed wild-caught fish topped with cheese, salsa Gobernador, avocado and onion. Be ready on National Taco Day as SOL Cocina Playa Vista will be hosting a special Happy Hour from 3pm to 6with tacos on offer like the Lemon Mezcal Grilled Chicken Street Tacos and the Pork Carnitas Street Tacos for just $4.50 (two per order).

To celebrate National Taco Day, head to Hyperion Public where they will be serving special tacos that are extra delicious in both their Silver Lake and Studio City locations. Order the Crispy Shrimp Tacos with beer battered shrimp, chipotle crema, pico de gallo slaw and lime juice wrapped to perfection in soft corn torillas. These tacos come three to an order, so make sure to get two so you do not have to share. Make sure to pair these tacos with the Hot Mezcal with Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, Angostura aromatic bitters, habanero tincture and lime juice. Olé!

Rick Bayless Red O restaurant is turning up the heat for National Taco Day by offering great specials. There will be a fiesta at Red O Santa Monica on National Taco Day, where the tacos run rampant on the menu, both day and night! Leave work early and join Red O Santa Monica for a great happy hour that will offer a menu of street tacos, featuring options like the chicken tacos with shredded chicken, tinga sauce, fried plantains, queso fresco, crema, avocado and crispy plantain chips, the Carnitas Tacos with cilantro-lime yogurt, chipotle purée, radish and green Mexican knob onions. Guests can also enjoy Red O’s Crispy Style Short Rib Tacos with roasted tomato-serrano sauce, onions, cilantro, Monterrey jack cheese and potato chips. When the sun sets, Red O offers a specialty taco plate for dinner, with a duo of Chicken Tinga and Short Rib Tacos served with Mexican red rice, refried black beans and queso fresco. Red O Santa Monica is making things even better by offering $3 for selected tacos, too. So, make sure to bring your sombrero, because it is going to be a party on National Taco Day in Santa Monica.
