Westwood’s Diddy Riese is practically an LA institution at this point. Reaching legendary status in the dessert world, it’s not uncommon to find lines literally down the street for a chance at their cookies and ice cream. In fact, many patrons make ice cream sandwiches out of the two here. The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the huge counter filled to the brim with their soft cookies. Opening their doors in 1983, they have been serving high quality cookies since then at great prices. Flavors include chocolate chip with walnuts, white chocolate macadamia nut, peanut butter, double chocolate chip, white chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin nut, chocolate with white chocolate, sugar cinnamon, candy, and chocolate chip. The bakery, known for its artisanal breads, traditional French desserts and confections serves a variety of treats including cookies. The most well-known and sought after cookie is the TKO, or the Thomas Keller Oreo cookie. It’s exactly what it sounds like. Oreo cookies with filling in between make for a favorite. Other flavors include their TLC, or oatmeal pecan cookie, a chocolate chunk, and an oatmeal raisin cookie.
