Best Places For A First Date In Los Angeles

Going on a date can be a nerve-racking endeavor. Add to that the numerous activities and spots you can choose to go on your first date, and it can become hard to make a decision on the perfect place to take out that special someone. We've put together a list to help make it easier though. From Downtown to the beach, here are the best places for a first date in Los Angeles.

Going on a coffee date just doesn't cut it anymore. Instead, meet your date under the Urban Lights at LACMA and check out the numerous art exhibits this terrific museum has to offer. With free general admission on certain days, you'll look like the most interesting first date ever for choosing something with some arts and culture. After perusing the interesting exhibits, stop by Stark Bar and grab a drink and some food to round out the day/evening.

Located in Venice, Abbot Kinney has become a favorite among locals and non-locals alike. On the first Friday of every month, Abbot Kinney lights up with activity though, making it a must-see if your date happens to fall at the beginning of the month. With food trucks and stores open late, there's no better way to check out the art and shopping on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. The events begin around 6pm and run till 10pm although restaurants will of course be open later. Once you're done walking the streets, stop by Gjelina, The Tasting Kitchen or Joe's Restaurant for a delicious dinner.

Located inside the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, The Spare Room is the perfect spot for a first date. Have some fun with that special someone and grab a drink and go bowling as well. Once done, grab some food at 25 Degrees for a perfect burger and join fellow Angelenos at the popular Tropicana Bar and Pool.

Although movies are so passé and a date at the cemetery sounds like a bad idea, The Hollywood Forever Cemetery provides something different. With a gorgeous landscape, the Cemetery puts on amazing concerts and has movie showings throughout the year for you to take advantage of. Summer is the best time of year to go though. Everyone from James Blake, The XX, to Bon Iver have played here. In addition, you'll catch some great movies too.

Although the pier is crowded and is a little cheesy, it's still an interesting activity for a first date. With its old-fashioned charm, ride the Ferris wheel, grab some food and look out on the water as the sun sets. The pier features a myriad of delicious food and has an interesting history that you can discover while walking around.

Located in the heart of Silverlake, Silverlake Wine is the perfect start to a first date. Technically a store, Silverlake Wine also offers wine tastings for just $12 per person for 3 wines. If you happen to make it on Sunday at 3pm though, Silverlake Wine features wines paired with hors d'oeuvres which compliment the wine region. Once you're done with wine tastings, walk across the street and have a delicious dinner at Gingergrass, one of Silverlake's best Vietnamese restaurants.

What's better than making your date laugh on a first outing? At the Hollywood Improv on Melrose, you can sample the areas best comedians or if you happen to get lucky, you'll make it on open mic night.
