Best Pizza Places In Fullerton

Whether you prefer your pizza to be more traditional, or with a little more added flair, the city of Fullerton offers some great options. Artisan-style, deep-dish, wood-fired, red sauce, white sauce, you name it, Fullerton has it. There is a place in which you build your very own pizza, from the crust, up. Yet another, uses a 1000 degree wood-burning oven which was handmade in Italy. Here are some of the most delicious pizza-centric dining options available in the iconic OC College town.

At Michaelangelo's, the pizza is as interestingly delicious as the unique names. You can order 'The Grandpa', 'The Grandma', 'Big Pig', or "Tailgate', just to name a few. You can also change it up and order some 'Fat Mama' lasagna. Always made with top quality, fresh ingredients, these marvelous creations are sure to please. As we all know, pizza and beer go together like peas and carrots. To that end, Michelangelo's also serves some of the finest craft beers you will find in Orange County. Why not get together with friends and order a 'Big Pig', and wash it down with a 'Downtown Brown' or a 'Southern Triangle' ? To finish it off, there is a delectable dessert item called 'The Ollie'. Spoiler alert - It contains Nutella and a crumbled bacon option.

The name alone would make it worth the trip, but fortunately 'Two Saucy Broads' is much more than just a catchy name. Serving delicious hot fresh New York style pizza, you may come in for the name, but you will come back for the food. 'Strong Island', Bronx Bomber' and 'Pestopalooza' are the names of some of the delicious round culinary delights served here. Factoring in that it also serves finely crafted California beers and wines, this is definitely worth the trip. Be sure to try the chicken wings, sandwiches and garlic knots. The specialty spicy garlic knots, dubbed 'Firecracker', are a favorite of the locals. It is conveniently located across the street from Amerige Park and City Hall.

You will know Pieology is quite unique from the time you walk in the door. The concept here is all about customized artisan-style pizza. And, that concept is clearly a winner. Much like 'build-a-bear', Pieology allows each customer to custom build their own thin-crust pizza, from scratch. You will be able to walk through, choose all your toppings and watch your pizza go from blank dough to oven-ready. It is crafted exactly how you want it.  One can opt for red sauce, white sauce, or no sauce. There are also a seemingly endless variety of toppings and cheeses available as well. If you can dream it, now you can do it. Hopefully your dreams were delicious, because that is exactly how your pie will come out of the open-flame oven.

If you are in the mood for authentic Italian, you need look no further. Fuoco actually has its main ingredients imported from Italy. Pizza is cooked in a custom-built 1000 degree wood-burning pizza oven which was hand-built in Naples, Italy. The father/son team of Franco and Tullio Ceccarelli, are second and third generation Italian pizza makers. There are many varieties of delicious pizza available in other locations, but this is the closest one can get to absolutely authentic Italian. If considers one's self a pizza connoisseur, a visit to Fuoco belongs on the bucket list. One cannot help but be amazed by the bouquet of flavors, the delicious cheeses, toppings and especially the flair added by the wood-burning oven. Absolutely divine.

In the mood for something a little different? If you like to think outside the box, this is just the place for you. Combo's Pizza not only has traditional toppings and combinations, but also offers some interesting (and quite tasty) alternative options. How about pastrami pizza ? Then there is one of the favorites of the regulars, the amazingly different carne asada pizza. Carne asada pizza does not have tomato sauce, rather it is served up with a layer of black bean-based sauce - it may sound a little odd, but is definitely delicious. Also serving up a wide variety of sandwiches both hot and cold, as well as salads and garlic sticks, this family-owned eatery has a fun atmosphere and makes for a great evening. Stop on in, you will be glad you did.
