Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
Located in Irvine, right next to the Irvine Spectrum, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre was built in 1980 as the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater and was later renamed in 2001. The outdoor venue is home to many top concerts from the likes of Iron Maiden, Kiss, Motley Crue and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra. Make sure not to miss the upcoming concerts by Luis Miguel, Dave Matthews Band and Rascal Flatts in September.
OC Fair & Event Center
With the goal of celebrating Orange County’s communities, interests and heritage, the OC Fair & Event Center holds many events in its location that range from the Centennial Farm, Food Truck Fare After Dark and a weekend swap meet. It is also home to the OC Fair held in the summer. The Fall Concert Series begins in September.
Irvine Regional Park
The Irvine Regional Park will present a rockin’ summer series on Wednesdays from August 22 until September 5. The eight-piece soul ensemble Cold Duck will hit the stage August 29 with the close out on September 5 starring Phat Cat Swinger. All concert events run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The park also has many amenities that include bicycle and aquacycle rentals located adjacent to the historic boathouse. Rentals are available throughout the summer, weekends and holidays.
Orange County Great Park
Open to the public, the 27.5-acre Preview Park is actively programmed with outdoor concerts, dances, workshops and other special events. Also home to the Orange County Great Park Balloon, the observation deck rises to up to 500 feet and can carry up to 30 people at one time. The Historic Hangar 244 has been incorporated into the events at the park that include concerts, dances and a winter ice rink. The signature events, including concerts, workshops and outdoor movies, have been available to the public while the Great Park remains open during its development.
Hart Park Band Shell
During the summer, music under the stars takes place from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The event hosts free concerts every Wednesday in the month of August with a variety of music from bands and music genres ranging from rhythm and blues, soul and contemporary Irish. The Fenians, a traditional and contemporary Irish band, will be performing on August 29 at the park.
