The Vans US Open of Surfing continues this week with a full lineup of competitions, exhibitions, activities, and fun on the sand in Huntington Beach. In addition to surfing, you can also catch air on the concrete as you watch BMX and skate competitions. Nighttime movies, sponsor booths, and plenty of surfing and extreme sport swag add family friendly opportunities to the competition lineup.

For a night of mythic proportions, take your family to the all-new Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus, LEGENDS. The greatest show on earth is the perfect summer family activity and will thrill kids of all ages with daring feats (including the brand new double trapeze), spectacles of strength (like the China National Acrobatic Troupe balancing 20 people on two bicycles), and plenty of animal interactions (over 85 animals from nearly every continent take part in the show). The OC Fair is back in town. Take the whole family out for a day of fun at the Fair, including fabulously unique fair food and drink, thrilling rides and amusements, carnival games, animals, entertainment, concerts, and sporting events. The Rogue Artists Ensemble will entertain your entire family as they remix some of Shakespeare's best characters, poetry, and plot devices in this mixed up show about the greatest playwright of all time. Featuring masks, puppets, live music, dance, and modern technology illusions, Hyberbole: bard is perfect for every age and level of Shakespeare fan. Indoor shows run twice this weekend at the Chance Theatre in Anaheim Hills, and a special evening outdoor showing at UCI's Gateway Commons takes place Sunday evenings through August 24.
