Ready for some live music? Some amazing acts are coming your way this week, Los Angeles. From Lady Gaga to classic Queen in the hit musical “We Will Rock You.” And if you have kids, we’ve got something for you too! Take them to a kid-focused concert in the park or hear the live music at the World Series of Beach Volleyball this weekend. The world premiere musical “Visionary Man” is based on the true story of artist J.B. Murray. Murray, an illiterate farm worker, lived in a shack in Georgia until age 70 when he received “visions from the Holy Spirit” prompting him to create a series of artwork that eventually led him to international acclaim from the art community. Ticket prices begin at $15 for students and $28 for general admission.

What began as Southern California’s first comic book convention in 1970 has expanded to a massive, four-day comic convention of epic proportions. With a focus on comic books and authors, the convention also features film (including the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival), fiction/fantasy literature, anime, and more. A giant exhibit hall, more than 600 scheduled events, workshops, games, the Eisner Awards, autograph areas, educational seminars, and portfolio reviews draw in crowds in the hundreds of thousands.
