Billed as the “ultimate show for L.A. foodies,” this evening of beer (or other libations by request), food, and close-up magic is a trifecta of entertainment designed especially for adults. With specialty flights of beers from light to dark, paired with hearty appetizers, and amongst an audience of only 20 people, whether you’ve got your beer goggles on or not you’re bound to be amazed by the illusions and slight of hand of Asimov.$55

The grande dame of Los Angeles magic, the World Famous Hollywood Magic Castle is the place for magic. A destination for the Earth’s best magicians, it boasts new acts weekly in numerous showrooms. The Close Up Gallery offers intimate shows of quick hands. The Parlour of Prestidigitation recreates the historic Victorian living room magician experience, while the Palace of Mystery hosts larger scale illusions and other magical performances. In addition, the castle itself is a gorgeous and eclectic 1909 Victorian mansion full of spaces to explore.Membership is available to magic-doers or magic watchers at various levels. Potential Magician Members, whether hobby or career, must apply and perform in front of committee. Mere mortals may join as an Associate. Multiple calls to magical sources did not yield their tightly guarded annual membership fees. However, they do offer two types of trial memberships for a month each, the Open Sesame for $150 and the Open Sesame Platinum for $250. Both trial memberships allow the bringing of multiple guests, perfect if you want your magical night out to become a way of life.

Main Street Magic Shop
Enjoy some of that famous Disney magic at their own Magic Shop. Tucked into the Main Street shops, fantastic full time and visiting guest magicians perform mesmerizing and mystifying tricks right before your eyes and often inches away from them. While not technically a show, there are always multiple magic men performing excellently executed tricks. You can also buy a range of tricks here, from beginner to advanced, and get a free demo of how to use and practice them. Tucked behind a privacy board so the magic isn’t revealed to innocent bystanders just browsing, this is a fan-tastic choice to be both entertained and entertaining.$87 for admission to Disneyland
