Korean barbecue restaurants are great places to visit for a couple of reasons. First, most places offer an all-you-can-eat menu so you can get your fill of delicious meats and sides. Second, these places allow you to control how well your meat - no matter what you choose - is cooked. If you want to satisfy your craving for Korean barbecue, try these terrific places that make our "Best Of" list.

Simply put, the selection at Gen is pretty impressive. With the ability to order all kinds of beef, chicken and pork to grill at your table, what else can you ask for? If you bring a vegetarian along, fear not though. There are some vegetarian options here too including the "Mushrooms & Vegetable" dish or the "Jap Chae" with mixed vegetables and glass noodles. For meat lovers, the pork belly, the spicy pork and the spicy marinated chicken are especially good. For lunch or dinner, we recommend getting the all-you-can-eat menu where you can get as much as you want for a reasonable price. Gen Korean does get pretty busy at lunchtime though, so don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit for a table.

Since it is tucked in the corner of a shopping center, it would be real easy to drive right past Go Goo Ryeo and not even realize you missed it. Once you've found this Korean BBQ hidden gem and are inside you will see a very inviting restaurant that isn't quite as stuffy as some Korean barbecue places. Go Goo Ryeo offers a lunch special as well, however, a minimum of two orders is required, and everyone in the party must order the same menu. With all of the different options on the menu (try the short ribs), it shouldn't be hard to find some options that everyone can agree on though. Other favorites besides the short ribs (Tong Galbi or Yangneum Galbi) include the thinly sliced beef or 'Bulgogi' which is very tender and tasty as well as the Haemoolgui, which comes with shrimp, lobster tail, squid, and scallop with mushrooms.

Garden Grove, CA 92844

Like a lot of Korean barbecue restaurants, Cham Sut Gol offers an all-you-can-eat menu. And, while the list of menu items may not be as long as other restaurants, it does offer great offerings that includes spicy pork, beef and shrimp. In addition, their all-you-can-eat ice cream is never a bad thing. You'll definitely walk away from this place satiated.

Seoul Garden

Tustin, CA 92780
(714) 573-9292

Seoul Garden is a pretty inconspicuous place in Tustin - set off the road a little bit in a shopping center. However, when you enter, you'll find a very casual and friendly place that's not only friendly but also one of the most affordable all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ spots in the county. With all of the table grills going, it can get a little warm inside though, but the deal on the great meats makes the heat easier to tolerate.

Shik Do Rak
14805 Jeffrey Road, Suite H
Irvine, CA 92618
(949) 653-7668

Shik Do Rak is a little pricier than other all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue places, but it's worth it to pay a little more here. The meats - especially the prime brisket - are excellent, and the sides and sauces are great too. You can even get some more exotic meats like intestines, little octopus and beef tongue. Shik Do Rak can get pretty busy, so it's probably best to go early for lunch or dinner.
