Chanukah begins at sunset on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, and ends at sunset on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Here are our picks for the best celebrations of the season. We also have a handy list of community menorah lightings throughout the southland.
The annual Chanukah Celebration at the Farmer’s Market includes children’s craft workshops, building a giant LEGO menorah, holiday foods, music and a menorah lighting ceremony.
Time: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
This community celebration will feature latkes, a raffle, music and arts and crafts, and a menorah lighting. Presented by the Chabad Jewish Community Center.

This celebration will feature live bands and dancing in CityWalk’s Cinema Plaza. The highlight will be the lighting of what is claimed to be Southern California’s largest menorah at 18 feet.
Chabad of West O.C. hosts a Chanukah Celebration at Bella Terra Shopping Center that includes a Menorah lighting, music, and treats and entertainment for children. A similar celebration is planned for Thursday, December 22 at Westminster Mall at 6:00 PM.
Tuesday, December 27th
There will be a community menorah lighting and Chanukah festival at the LA Police Academy. The event includes an officer training simulator (for ages over 13), facility tour, film studio tour, K9 dog demo, helicopter fly-by, mounted police demo, plus latkes, donuts and other refreshments. December 20th through 27th at Sundown
Nightly Menorah lighting ceremonies with community representatives on the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Celebration will include live music, holiday theatre, children’s crafts and activities and cooking demonstrations.

Every night at 5:00 PM the Montage Beverly Hills will light a menorah. Celebrate together in the lap of luxury before or after enjoying the lush surroundings and delicious food offered by this swanky hotel in the heart of Beverly Hills.
