Carroll Ave. And Douglas St.
Angelino Heights, CA 90026

The architecture and nature of Angelino Heights takes L.A. back to the Victorian era. Located atop Echo Park Lake, trick-or-treaters fill the streets on Halloween. Known as the "Haunted District," this neighborhood gives visitors quite the treat — eerie Victorian mansions, elaborate Halloween décor and just the right bit of imagination. The hilly streets once were home to Hollywood starlets Gloria Swanson and Mary Pickford. The area is a designated Historic Preservation Overlay Zone for its Queen Anne and Eastlake style Victorian homes. Have your smart phone ready to capture the spook.

This annual medieval haunt welcomes all ages to get their spook on. This local residence hosts a free Halloween haunt every year. But the catch is haunted house guests are asked to bring one can donation, which benefits the non-profit organization Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. Considered a ten on the scale of scariness, Beware the Dark Realm presents a torture chamber, 3-D ghosts, live actors with intense shock-value and fire breathing creatures. This tour is not suggested for children under 10 years old.

Carnival music, skeletons dancing and pumpkins are part of the show too. This interactive fun Halloween destination appeals to families and children, inviting lots of photo ops.
