“Eat at your own risk!” Jitlada warns anyone brave enough to take on the Southern Thai specialist’s Dynamite Challenge. On the plus side, participants get to choose their protein. Architecturally-themed ice cream sandwich Coolhaus’ Skyscraper Challenge gives the phrase “leave room for dessert” new meaning. The skyscraper in question is a tasty tower consisting of five scoops of ice cream and six cookies. It’s free if it can be eaten in 10 minutes. Brain freeze is inevitable.

Oh My Burger truly lives up to its name with their 8 LB. Burger Challenge. While the patties only way in at two and a half pounds, the accompanying bacon, cheese, fries, onion rings, and pastrami (not to mention the 16 oz shake) make this challenge nearly unbeatable. But you have the stomach to tackle all that greasy goodness in 55 minutes, the meal is gratis.

If you love New York-style heroes, you’re in for one of the biggest food challenges of your life. The Big Fat Fatty from Fat Sal’s Deli consists of ingredients stuffed into a 27-inch hero sandwich. Inside is chicken, pastrami, onion rings, bacon, chili, mozzarella sticks and it’s topped off with a fried egg. Your challenge awaits. Finish the Fatty in 40 minutes or less and it’s free, or pay $49.50 if you lose the challenge.

You get a T-shirt and picture on the wall of fame if you win. If you don’t finish it in one hour, you get charged $34.95. You must register a day in advance by calling. Food challenges take place Monday through Thursday. The Godzilla roll consists of Dynamite scallop, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, cream cheese and cucumber.

How about a breakfast challenge? Get ready for a dozen eggs. The Broken Yolk Café Special is an omelet filled with cheese, onion, mushrooms and a side of chile. This food stuffer early in the morning must be accomplished within the one-hour time limit. If your appetite in the morning can face the challenge, go for it. You must chow down the two side biscuits and mouth watering home fries within the hour or you don’t get the meal for free. If you win, your breakfast is free and you get a T-shirt.
