If dad is an oldie car lover, then take him to roam the streets of gorgeous downtown Brea on Father’s Day this year. Hosted by the Orange County Mustang Club and sponsored by Villa Ford, this festival of music, old cars, food and plenty of family fun will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

St. Regis Monarch Beach is unveiling a special bespoke Bloody Mary Bar, where he can handcraft his very own cocktail. The bar will feature three levels with an ice luge, four different juice styles (from mild to smoky), 20 different garnishes and unique hot sauces. This is alongside the resort’s famous Sunday Brunch, which includes unlimited champagne, a carving station, fresh food stations, a sushi bar, and of course, an omelet and pancake station. Make Father’s Day a weekend event at the Huck Finn Jubilee, where dad will enjoy three days of live music, camping, classic cars and more. If dad is into eating, there’s also the Vittles Village, where he can nosh on BBQ beef, baked beans, tri tip, polish sausage, steak burritos while enjoying bluegrass music in the background. Mom will love the American Country Crafts Fair, and the kids can cheer dad on at the California State Arm Wrestling Championships. Tickets start at $23.

If your father was a member of the military at one point, he’ll enjoy the annual Old Miners’ Day on Saturday, June 15, the day before Father’s Day. Since the 1950s, Old Miners has saluted the Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard, but this year, the salute will include the San Bernardino Sheriffs and Riverside Police departments, who both lost officers during the Christopher Dorner manhunt. The event will include plenty of military display, a parade and a barbecue hosted by the American Legion Post 584.
35th Annual Playboy Jazz Festival

Pack up a picnic for dad and take him to one of the premier jazz events in Southern California, the Playboy Jazz Festival. Actor and comedian George Lopez will emcee this event, which will feature artists like Taj Mahal and the Real Thing Tuba Band, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Brubeck Brothers Quartet. If mom is interested in tagging along, she will probably get a kick out of seeing performances by Sheila E. and India.Arie.
