Best Fall Sports Leagues For Kids In OC

Orange County is known to be a great place to raise a family, and every parent knows the benefit of having their child involved in group sports. Here are some of the best sports leagues offered in OC this fall for kiddos of all ages.

For less than $200 and organization membership, kiddos will get the opportunity to be part of Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County's Basketball Youth Fall League that will be held from September 21 until October 26. The registration fee includes a team jersey, organized games, practices and basketball coaching. All of the practices and games are held on Sundays and make for fun family affair.

Get your flag football fix on Friday nights this fall. From September until November, games are held every Friday at the Costa Mesa Sports Complex. For $175, participants will receive a team jersey, coaching, pictures, trophies for winning teams, flags, referees and a beautiful location to play games. Additionally, youth cheerleaders will be on the sidelines showing their team spirit. This fall, your child can become a Fullerton Coyote. There are many co-ed leagues offered for children ages two and a half on up to 14 years old. The fall basketball league gives participants four months to refine basketball elements such as passing, shooting and dribbling through a series of games and practices. YMCA members can sign children up for only $100, and non-members can register for $160. The YMCA provides several affordable sports leagues to hone your child's interests and talents - one of the them being youth soccer. Members of the YMCA can participate in the Newport Beach youth soccer league for only $80, and non-members can enroll for $160. Children can meet new friends, learn soccer rules and techniques, gain coordination and athleticism and develop a passion for soccer. Typically, track and field is not offered until middle school, but fortunately the YMCA enables youth to explore their athleticism at track meets early on. For $70 with a YMCA membership or $120 without a membership, kiddos can sharpen agility, strength, stamina and coordination on the track and field while learning sportsmanship and meeting new friends. The track meets are scheduled to take place on November 1 and December 6, so children have plenty of time to prepare for the competition. You can reserve your child's spot on the team here.
