Best Fall Sporting Events In OC
When it comes to fall sports, the NFL is certainly the king. While no NFL team resides in Orange County, there are still plenty of fall sporting events that will be worth the price of admission. From the last Angels home games to the first 2014-15 meeting between the Kings and Ducks in Anaheim, here are some of the best sporting events to see this fall in Orange County.
Angels vs Rangers
Angel Stadium of Anaheim
2000 E. Gene Autry Way
Anaheim, CA 92806
(714) 940-2000

Date: Sept. 19-21, 2014
If you're looking for a fun day or night activity, an Angels game is always a good way spend your day. Going up against the Texas Rangers, this series will be a particularly good way to spend your day or weekend. As the final regular-season series at home for the Angels, it will be that much more exciting to be there in person. More than that, this series against the division rival Texas Rangers may play a big part in what teams from the American League West move on to the playoffs. Head out to root on the Angels because it is possible that you may not see your beloved team in red again until spring.
Kings vs Ducks
Honda Center
2695 E. Katella Ave.
Anaheim, CA 92806
(714) 704-2400
www.ducks.nhl.com
Date: Nov. 12, 2014
Ducks fans have probably already circled November 12 on their calendars because it is the first time the Ducks play the Kings in Anaheim in the 2014-15 season. These two teams (and fan bases) don't take very kindly to each other if you don't already know. If anything, Ducks fans will take even less kindly to the Kings considering the Kings just won the Stanley Cup for the second time. Tickets for this game will probably be difficult to get though, so the earlier you buy your tickets, the better.

Lakers vs Suns
Honda Center

Anaheim, CA 92806
(714) 704-2400

Date: Oct. 21, 2014
Sure, this game on October 21 is only a preseason game, but there are some reasons to check out this contest. The Lakers have struggled the last couple of years and it looks as though the team might struggle again this season. However, Byron Scott has returned to the organization as the head coach and the team has added some new faces. In any case, it's a chance to see the Lakers - and the talented young Suns team - without having to go to downtown Los Angeles and paying an exorbitant amount for the privilege.
Mater Dei vs Servite
Angel Stadium of Anaheim
2000 E. Gene Autry Way
Anaheim, CA 92806
(714) 940-2000

Date: Oct. 17, 2014
You know a high school football rivalry is a big event if the contest is held at a professional baseball stadium. For some years now and again on October 17, Mater Dei and Servite have played at Angels Stadium. It makes sense not only because this is one of the biggest football rivalries in the county, but also because these are traditionally two of the best teams in the county. Even if you don't root for either team, this is a good game to watch because you're sure to see lots of players that go on to have good college careers.
St. John Bosco vs JSerra
San Juan Hills High School
29211 Vista Montana
San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675
(949) 234-5900
www.jserra.org
High school football in California may not be quite as popular as it is in Texas, Ohio or Florida (although it's not far behind), but it's always a big deal when the reigning champion comes to town. That is exactly what will happen on October 16 when St. John Bosco plays traditional Orange County power JSerra. This will be a good game not only to see if Serra can take down the state champs, but also because you'll see a lot of players that will go on to play at major colleges, and maybe even some that will make it to the pro ranks.
