With alcohol, food and televisions, most bars have plenty to recommend them. However, a good place is even more appealing when it has pool tables – particularly when those pool tables are inexpensive. Whether you’re looking for a friendly game or a tournament, here are some of the best places in the county to enjoy billiards while you eat and drink.

The Pump Room
1532 W. Chapman Ave.
Orange, CA 92868
(714) 978-6010

The Pump Room doesn’t boast an entire room full of billiards tables. It does, however, boast a very good price for a game of pool. With each game costing only $.50, it’s easy to shoot as much pool as you want without spending a lot. Oh, and you can play billiards while enjoying a beverage from the full bar and being served by a beautiful waitress in a bikini.

Danny K’s Billiards and Sports Bar
1096 N. Main St.
Orange, CA 92867
(714) 771-9706
www.dannyks.com

Whether you’re looking for a friendly game or a tournament, Danny K’s is the place for billiards. The bar is set up so that you can shoot a game of billiards without missing any of the sports on the vast array of televisions in the place. If you’re a player looking for good competition on the table, tournaments happen every day of the week except Fridays. Most of the tournaments are handicapped and involve an entry fee, but it’s worth it if you can come away with more money than when you walked in.

This place has 45 televisions, so you can keep your eye on whatever sporting event catches your attention while you shoot pool. The Classic Q offers a full menu and a full bar, and – best of all – it is open until 2 a.m. Head out to The Classic Q for a full night of food, drinks and pool.

Whether or not you’re a student at Cypress College, Campus Billiards and Sports is a great place to play some billiards. While most places charge by the game, at Campus Billiards the pool table rates are hourly. This is especially noteworthy on Mondays and Wednesdays when you can play pool for $1.75 per hour. Just think about how much pool you could play in an hour – all for less than $2. This place also has college cuisine favorites: wings, hot dogs and pizza.

Iron Mule
21212 Bake Parkway
Lake Forest, CA 92630
(949) 586-6853

Iron Mule has plenty going for it, even if you don’t take the pool tables into consideration. After all, it’s a place with big mugs and reasonable prices – both rarities in south Orange County. While those are both good reasons to go to the place, they are not the only reasons. Enjoy some games of pool while you’re there – especially on Sundays when there is no charge for the pool tables. Yes, you read that correctly. Sundays are free-billiards days at Iron Mule.
