The Katella Deli, Bakery & Restaurant has been an OC landmark since its inception in 1964, when two European immigrants made their mark on the baking scene by using their authentic traditional Jewish recipes that have been passed down to the current generation. The menu has expanded tremendously since its inception and now serves over 2,000 visitors each day at their full service restaurant, to-go deli and award-winning bakery. From macarons, croissants, cookies and tarts to other sweets, the third generation family recipes live on in local favorites including the Rye and Challa.

Bread is the name of the game at this Santa Ana bakery. Established in 2010 by Jonnie LoFranco, BREAD Artisan Bakery has become one of the OC's most highly regarded bakeries. Yannick Guegan, the head baker at BREAD, learned his baking technique back at home in France, and his baked-from-scratch artisan craftsmanship is seen in every delicacy served here. Breads offered here include sourdough, harvest, multi-grain, spelt quinoa and orange, pistachio raisin and walnut, as well as many other types. Don't miss their dense brioche or the flaky Kouign Amann. The wholesale bakery serves up its goods to some of the OC's most prestigious clients, but individual bread lovers can snag their goods every week at the Downtown Santa Ana Farmers' Market.

Cream Pan Bakery, named for its puffy cream pan bun filled with custard, is actually most known for its Strawberry Croissant, a byproduct of fun experimentation by owner Yoshinori Inada. The Strawberry Croissant has actually won numerous awards and garners a dedicated OC following, but the bakery actually boasts more than 30 varieties of pastries, over 20 types and style of bread, and numerous desserts and donuts, not to mention the full sandwich menu that keeps guests satisfied for lunch.
