Designed to provide a safe, structured and fun enviornment for children, the YMCA Afterschool program meets parents needs by also offering safety, homework help, recreation and enrichment for children. A list of activities offered includes sports classes and leagues, photography and cooking, science, art, fitness, gardening and much more. Located on 4,000 acres in Trabuco Canyon, Starr Ranch Sanctuary offers after school activities with biologists where children ages 8-12 are invited to learn how the sanctuary's biologists conduct research on their wildlife and habitats. Past topics have included: reptiles & amphibians and cougars, bobcats & coyotes. Each session ends with a special nature walk with biologists too adding more information for kids to soak up.

With locations in Irvine and San Juan Capistrano, Aquazot Swim Club offers kids year round training and coaching as well as the opportunity to compete on their swim teams. Coaches here are all members of the American Swim Coaches Association and provide each child the opportunity to improve their swimming skills.
