Best Adult Hockey Leagues In Los Angeles

In the land where sunny weather persists almost every day of the year, it might seem as though hockey would not be as popular as in other parts of the country. But, there are plenty of avid hockey players ready to strap on some skates for either an ice hockey game or a roller hockey game. To satisfy these needs, there are plenty of mixed-level adult hockey leagues available throughout the city that offer friendly, organized, exciting hockey play.

Now that Los Angeles is the home of the 2012 Stanley Cup champions, there's no better year to get involved in a local hockey league. Not only is the Kings Valley Ice Center the most professional rink in the LA area, it is also affordable and has easily accessible registration. This league serves more than 500 adults, including specialty groupings such as the women's league and a refugee league. The women's program has become is highly competitive and trendy in the past few years, but Kings' leagues cater to all ability levels.

With 12 skill-level-based divisions, this arena offers a professional coaching staff for instruction in shooting, speed and endurance. Adult hockey clinics are offered on weekends throughout the fall at ice angels. Seasons are in session year round in three divisions of varying skill levels. The refurbished rink is a great place for hockey fans to get away and find their inner Mighty Duck. Registration can be made online via Paypal or at the rink during league games.

The Southern California Sports Organization integrates year-round, semi-pro-level hockey with community involvement. The overarching focus of the organization is to raise awareness and assist children with chronic illness or emotional distress, including teen runaways. So Cal sports groups play competitively  to raise funds to be donated to chosen charities. Sports programs include training and exercise that develop endurance, flexibility and strength.

This Culver City arena is home to an in-house league for adults. Each 20-game season ends with play-offs among the three divisions. This private ice arena features events for the community, including private lessons in figure skating and sports, public skating, private parties and regular theater performances on ice. The arena even features a sports specialty store, offering expert fitting in skating attire and hockey equipment.
