The brainchild of writer/director Kevin Smith and Los Angeles radio mainstay Ralph Garman, "Hollywood Babble On" occasionally does live installments of their successful podcast. Delving into all things pop culture, from comic books to celebrity news, both Smith and Garman have the kind of humor that is articulately irreverent and painfully insightful. Often welcoming veteran comedians to sit in and join the tirade, the live podcast is a comedy show that feel much more inclusive. Ticket-holders are in on a conversation as opposed to traditional comedy shows where someone is talking at you for an extended amount of time.

While the Angels haven't had the kind of season fans have hoped for, there is no denying that a ballgame on a Saturday night at Angel Stadium is a good call no matter the team's standing. This weekend is particularly interesting as the Boston Red Sox roll through Anaheim. This will be one, if not your last, chance to see the victory lap for one of baseball's greatest careers. Red Sox slugger Big Papi will be on the field in Southern California, so you won't want to miss out. Hanley Ramirez is playing stellar baseball and will surely give the Angels a comestible Saturday night, too.

In the thick of their Paper Gods tour supporting their latest release of the same name, the lads in Duran Duran pull up their brakes in Irvine this weekend with special guests Chic. Considering the band has done some collaboration with the legendary Nile Rodgers on this latest record, it was only fitting the team take the show on the road together as well. Fans that score tickets to this special engagement also get a copy of the new record. Working with Janelle Monae, Mark Ronson, and Mr. Hudson, Paper Gods is an appropriate understanding of what it is to evolve while still retaining all the appeal of Duran Duran's domination some decades ago. The band looks and sounds as good as ever and are still well worth the price of admission.

As one of Orange County's most serene slices of history, the green lawns of the Muck are as lush as they are storied. Between the pristine gardens and the Spanish colonial architecture, the grounds are picturesque and inviting and that's not even getting to what happening inside. Featuring a regular rotation of special events and exclusive exhibitions, there is always some additional eye candy at the Muck that gives it the importance of a museum, with none of the stuffiness. In the gallery, the Muck is currently featuring a glimpse of the work of printmaker Richard Duardo and his influential pieces that became hugely popular in the 1980's. Whether it's a stroll through the gardens or a stop in the gallery, there is plenty to soak in at the Muck.

In between rides, games, and deep-fried Oreos, guests at the OC Fair can get their fill of motorsporting madness as monster trucks roam the Costa Mesa Speedway all weekend. Less about the competition and more about the spectacle, these gigantic four-wheeled beasts crush cars, leap obstacles, spew dirt, and roar across the course to delight of fans in the stands. While drivers jockey for their spot in the bracket, there will also be dirt bike demos loaded with big jumps and high drama that are designed to keep the energy at full throttle from beginning to end.
