Happy Birthday BIG Boy… 5 great ideas for parties as they grow in leaps in bounds
My son is going to turn 10 this year and I found myself scrambling more than usual for ideas of what to do. It seemed easier when he was younger to find more than enough places, vendors and themes to consider. Besides the fact that he has outgrown many of those things, there is also the fact that most kids this age start to have very strong opinions of what, where and who. Letting them have an itsy-bitsy say is a plus.
Here are some of places and activities to consider when your little boy starts turning into a big boy. He and I both think would they would make any BIG boy have a very Happy Birthday.
This trampoline fun center has trampolines on the floor, the walls and places to bounce everywhere. The staff can coordinate and supervise all activities. This is my son’s new favorite place and top of his list for this year’s birthday. What he says he loves most is ‘the trampolines are huge even if you get exhausted, you can even bounce off the walls and they have great arcade games.’
XMA World Headquarters
XMA is a fusion of all martial arts styles, blended together with performance arts, high-flying acrobatic maneuvers, and more. Have a party where kids will jump, climb, flip and play on Olympic Trampolines, Spring Floor, Mini Tramp and a 9000-cube pit plus watch performances by Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Bros. Acrobatic performances! As attendees of parties there, my son and I were both thrilled with this state of the art facility and multi-talented staff.
Former Blue Power Ranger Mike Chat Mike Chat is responsible for training over 60 world champions, stunt doubles for Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Keanu Reeves and Hollywood superstars Taylor Lautner (Twilight Saga), Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid) and Grammy artists Usher, The Black Eyed Peas, and more! XMA’s signature moves and stunt professionals can be seen in today’s hottest films like TRON Legacy, Spiderman, GI Joe, and The Matrix Trilogy.
Ultrazone Laser Tag!
The perfect party for a high tech art laser tag adventure. Kids engage in team play where dodging lasers, and strategy lead to fun and exhilaration in this futuristic version of Capture the Flag. We had our party here for birthday No. 8 and my son would happily consider it again this year.
Games 2 U (G2U)
Originally started by 2 brothers who had a great idea and a passion for what they do, Games2U is a fully-mobile, interactive entertainment fun powerhouse. They offer a multitude of activities and games and you don’t have to choose just one…Video Game Theaters, 4D Ride Experiences, Giant Hamster Balls, Laser Tag, the U:bot and much more! They come, set-up all of the equipment and for all the parties we have attended have provided stellar service with staff that really keeps the kids engaged and asking for ‘5 more minutes… please!’
Especially if you have a boy, if you haven’t been to Legoland yet now is the time. For the builder, visionary and a more intimate group on a grand scale. Whether you choose one of their birthday packages or just take a few friends, it’s a special way to spend a day. It is a packed full, non-stop adventure from the absolutely amazing ‘cities’ including: Miniland USA, Castle Hill and Land of Adventure, the rides from Lego Technic Coaster to Bionicle Blaster, the games, food… fabulous and memorable…Seriously, I love Legos almost as much as my son. So many of the ‘boy’ things feel like torture to me but not this.
