College Football Week 9: Colorado At #2 Oregon

Colorado v Washington State Washington v Oregon

Colorado

Oregon

Jon Embree will get a pass this year, I suppose, but fans will want a huge improvement in Year Three. Colorado just hasn’t been competitive this year. Coaching Watch an Oregon game and you’ll probably see a few plays you’d never seen before. Chip Kelly is innovative and creative, and his team plays fast and loose.
Colorado’s offense is one of the least productive in the country. The Buffaloes couldn’t cross the goal line last week against USC. Offense The Ducks scored 43 points last week against Arizona State…in the first half. Kenjon Barner looks like a Heisman candidate.
Matt Barkley put on a passing clinic last week against the Buffs. Expect Oregon to have a similar offensive outburst, though more of the damage will be down on the ground. Defense The Ducks picked off four passes last week and nearly returned a couple of them for scores. Their 14 picks on the season rank third in the country.
Will Oliver hit both his field goal attempts last week, but Colorado has had trouble containing kickoff and punt returners. Special Teams Oregon’s special teams have not been important this season and won’t be Saturday. They have the weapons to be dangerous if need be.

The winner is

Washington v Oregon
Oregon
4 out of 4

Oregon hasn’t been tested yet and it won’t be this week. Next week’s matchup with USC will be the first chance to see how good this Oregon team really is.
