College Football Week 7: #1 Alabama At Missouri

Mississippi v Alabama Missouri v South Carolina

Alabama

Missouri

In its last game, for the first time since its regular season matchup with LSU last season, Alabama trailed in a game. It only lasted for 15 seconds. Nick Saban has had his team focused all season and he had an extra week to prepare for this game. Coaching Gary Pinkel and Saban were teammates on Kent State’s 1972 Mid-American Conference championship team. They will face each other for the first time Saturday.
A.J. McCarron was an efficient 22 of 30 against Ole Miss, completing passes to 10 different receivers. The Tide did not score a rushing touchdown. Offense Missouri’s offensive numbers have been extremely disappointing. Quarterback James Franklin hurt his knee in the first quarter of last week’s loss to Vanderbilt and will miss a few games.
Alabama recorded three interceptions and held what has been a good Ole Miss offense to just 218 yards. Defense The Tigers have been solid, if not spectacular, on defense. They have forced 14 turnovers and will likely to add a few more to have any chance at upsetting Alabama.
It doesn’t get much better than Alabama’s special teams performance last time out: Jeremy Shelley was 4 for 4 on field goals and Christion Jones returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score. Special Teams Andrew Baggett was 3 for 3 last week on field goals. Marcus Murphy has already returned three punts for touchdowns. He is electric.

The winner is

Mississippi v Alabama
Alabama
4 out of 4

Welcome to SEC, Mizzou. The Tigers are likely to fall to 0-4 in the conference unless they summon a monster effort. Expect the Tide to, well, roll.
