College Football Week 6: #21 Nebraska At #12 Ohio State

Wisonsin v Nebraska Ohio State v Michigan State

#21 Nebraska

# 12 Ohio State

Things were looking bleak for Bo Pelini’s squad at Wisconsin last Saturday, down 17 in the third quarter, but Nebraska stormed back. Was the comeback attributed to coaching adjustments? Sure, why not. Coaching Urban Meyer is 5-0 in his first season in Columbus after winning his inaugural Big Ten game last week at Michigan State. Folks are already starting to talk about the possibility of an undefeated season, one in which the Buckeyes aren’t eligible for a bowl.
Taylor Martinez started slow last week, but T-Magic finished with two passing touchdowns and added 107 yards rushing with another score. He’ll never be the most polished passer but right now he is leading one of the more potent offensive attacks in the Big Ten. Offense Did the Buckeyes send doctored game tape to East Lansing? If they did, it didn’t help their offense much. Braxton Miller turned the ball over three times and won’t have his best tailback, Jordan Hall, against Nebraska.
Nebraska’s defense toughened up late against the Badgers, its third straight impressive performance after getting gashed by UCLA. This unit is making strides but will have its hands full against the Buckeyes. Defense Ohio State absolutely shut down Michigan State, which couldn’t get anything on the ground (34 yards on 22 carries) and was inefficient in the air (only 22 of 42 passes were completed). After some shaky early-season performances, it was a welcome change.
Senior kicker Brett Maher has hit 7 of 12 field goals. Nebraska has been very good in the return game; Ameer Abdullah is dangerous. Special Teams Ohio State has attempted just two field goals, tied for fewest in the country. The Buckeyes have been below average in other phases of special teams.

The winner is

Wisonsin v Nebraska
#21 Nebraska
2 out of 4

There could be more points in this game than people think. Nebraska certainly has what it takes to pull off the upset, even in a primetime game in Columbus.
