College Football Week 14: #23 Texas At #7 Kansas State

  • Coaching
You’re used to seeing Texas play on Thanksgiving, just not against TCU. With Texas A&M gone to the SEC, TCU visited Austin and left with a victory. Longhorn supporters are not happy.
This will be Kansas State’s first game since losing for the first time this season against Baylor. Expect a bounce-back effort; a win gives the Wildcats the Big 12 title.
  • Offense
Mack Brown went back and forth between David Ash and Colt McCoy, but both made mistakes. Texas turned it over four times.
Collin Klein had by far his worst game of the season against Baylor, throwing three costly interceptions.
  • Defense
Texas is 94th in yards per play allowed, but has looked better the last few weeks.
Baylor put up 580 yards against the Wildcats, but did intercept two passes. Turnovers have been key for this unit all season.
  • Special Teams
Outside of field goal kicking, Texas has been very good.
KSU’s special teams are No. 1 in the country in the FEI ratings, ranking in the top 10 in punt and kick returns and punting.
Kansas State’s loss two weeks ago was a reminder of how difficult it is to navigate the entire season without a loss. The Wildcats are the better all-around team here and should clinch a spot in a BCS bowl. -Andrew Kahn, College Football Contributor
