College Football Week 12: #10 Florida State At Maryland

Florida State
Clemson v Florida State
Maryland v Virginia
Winner FSU needed a last-minute touchdown to win at Virginia Tech last Thursday. But in doing so, Jimbo Fisher’s team notched its first win outside of the state of Florida this season.
While Randy Edsall’s hiring didn’t exactly rally the troops in College Park, he should get a free pass this year given all the injuries.
Winner E.J Manuel threw for 326 yards last week. He leads the top offense in the country as far as yards per play, and shouldn’t find too much resistance on Saturday.
The Terps only managed 180 yards last week. What do you expect when your quarterback is a converted linebacker?
Winner Maryland may have trouble getting the ball past midfield against this unit, the best in the country by many statistical measures.
Clemson was able to score at will on Maryland, scoring five touchdowns in the first half alone. Containing the Seminoles will be just as difficult.
Special Teams
Winner FSU muffed a punt last week. Dustin Hopkins is just two points away from becoming the highest-scoring kicker in NCAA history.
The Terps rank in the middle of the pack in overall special teams. They will need something above average to stay with FSU for even a half.

The Winner Is

Clemson v Florida State
Winner Florida State
4 out of 4

Given FSU’s statistical dominance this season, the loss to NC State will go down as an unexplainable upset. A loss to Maryland would top that.
