Officers were dispatched shortly after 2 a.m. to the area of 2300 West Harvard, after a female caller advised her boyfriend had been shot, according to Santa Ana police.
The attack occurred at La Loma Road and Figueroa and was reported just before 10:30 p.m.
The ages and genders of the victims were not immediately available.
The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
