The North Fire had scorched 3,500 acres around the Cajon Pass and was 60 percent contained as of 8 a.m. Sunday. To the west, the Pine Fire, near Wrightwood, burned 200 acres and was 35 percent contained.
The Pine Fire was first reported around 9 p.m. Friday and had burned around 200 acres near Flume Canyon, off of Highway 2, by 8 a.m.
The victim’s body had been at the location for an extended period of time, possibly up to four years.
The Pine Fire was first reported at 1:20 p.m. Friday.
The time of total containment has yet to be determined, said a department dispatcher.
Firefighters are battling a quick-moving brush fire that’s scorched more than 35 acres in the Tejon Pass.
