Mayor Oscar Hernandez
Jurors in the city of Bell corruption trial have gone home for the weekend after concluding deliberations for the day.
A judge ruled Monday that the city of Bell does not have to pay Mayor Oscar Hernandez an interim award of attorneys’ fees as he defends himself against fraud charges.
Police had to clear the first Bell City Council meeting attended by Mayor Oscar Hernandez and Vice Mayor Teresa Jacobo since they were arrested in the city’s salary scandal.
Bell’s City Council is up for an extreme makeover, now that residents have gathered enough signatures for a ballot initiative to recall three of its members who were accused of being part of the city’s salary scandal.
