Following Monday’s Melee, LAPD Beefs Up Patrols For Mexico Vs. Netherlands World Cup Match

As Southland fans headed to watch the World Cup match Sunday between Mexico and the Netherlands, police increased patrols in Huntington Park and Walnut Park to try and avoid the same melee that erupted following Monday’s game.

LAUSD Hires 440 Security Aides For Its Elementary Schools

The Los Angeles School District is increasing the safety of its schools. As part of a $4.2 million plan to increase school security, the district has hired 440 security aides armed with radios to patrol its elementary schools.
