Firefighters and paramedics responded to a residence at 23rd Street and Speedway just before 5 a.m.
Deputies were called around 11 p.m. to Berendo Avenue and West 111th Street, where KCAL9’s Joy Benedict reports a birthday party for a woman in her 20s was underway.
No deputies were injured as a result of the shooting.
Investigators say a family was traveling southbound on San Gabriel Canyon Road, near Mountain Laurel Way, just after 7:30 p.m. when the driver lost control of the SUV and went over the side of a mountain, falling approximately 50 feet.
A spokesperson for the Glendale Police Department told CBS2/KCAL9 they received a call around 9:30 a.m. from a concerned family member who had not heard from residents in the 600 block of Alexander Street.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
Police say 30-year-old Alvaro Mata-Rico, of Bell Gardens, was killed on East 51st Street and McKinley Avenue just after 11 p.m. Friday — about 15 minutes before another taco vendor was shot at about a mile away.
Malibu Canyon Road was closed in the city of Malibu Monday due to a brush fire due to a car over the side, authorities said.
Investigators say a 2005 Honda Civic with four people inside was traveling eastbound on Roscoe when collided with a Ford Mustang traveling northbound on Lindley.
The unidentified man was killed by some sort of heavy equipment –possibly a gravel loader.
The incident remains under investigation.
Eastbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway at Corral Canyon were closed for nearly six hours Saturday following a fatal three-vehicle collision.
The crash occurred in the 10800 block of Wrightwood Lane.
The suspect fled the area prior to the deputies’ arrival.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
