Court Records: Boy Was Tortured, Forced To Eat Vomit And Feces Before He Died

Eight-year-old Gabriel Fernandez was doused with pepper spray, forced to eat his own vomit and locked in a cabinet with a sock stuffed in his mouth to muffle his screams before he was beaten to death by his own mother, according to court records released this week.

County Approves Recommendation To Form Independent Office Of Child Protection

The recommendation was among dozens made by the Blue Ribbon Commission on Child Protection and was approved in a 4-1 vote by the Board Tuesday.
