Aircraft manufacturing company Boeing announced Monday that it will close its C-17 assembly plant in Long Beach about three months earlier than previously planned.

Boeing Co. says it is cutting 900 of the 3,700 jobs at its Long Beach plant. The Los Angeles Times reports that the company announced the layoffs Wednesday.
