A Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson tells CBS2/KCAL9 News the two-vehicle accident occurred at Avenue D and 60th Street West, where the truck crash into a Prius.
CBS2’s Kristine Lazar reports why the ambulance didn’t stop: The driver was so tired that he might have fallen asleep at the wheel with a patient and a paramedic in the back.
The crash involved several vehicles, according to the CHP.
The CHP said the accident occurred at about 9:50 p.m. Saturday at Gage Avenue, east of Converse Avenue.
“I must have had angels that day because if I would have been hit with that wrench … I could have been killed,” said Priscilla Araiza.
Two teenagers were killed and three others were injured after a dump truck crashed into a vehicle in the Cajon Pass late Tuesday night, authorities said.
