CBS2/KCAL9 is the proud media presenting sponsor of the 17th Annual Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County Race for the Cure®. The 5K Walk/Run, 10K Double Down and Kids Fun Run will take place Saturday, March 23, at Dodger Stadium.
Join the CBS2/KCAL9 Team, as we walk to raise funds for breast cancer research, treatment and support programs.
Breast Cancer: Get the Facts
- An estimated 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
- In the U.S., one woman will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes.
- In Los Angeles County, approximately 5,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year.
The Race is the Reason we’re able to make a difference! Participating in the LA County Race helps support the health of our Los Angeles County community. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the only organization that dedicates 75% of net proceeds to the community in which it was raised. The remaining 25% of the net funds raised support Komen’s National Research Program, which is regarded as the most innovative and responsive grant program in breast cancer research.
