Mel Gibson

In March 2011, Mel Gibson, 55, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge after he and his former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, got into a fight. Gibson was sentenced to three years probation, one year of domestic-violence counseling and ordered to undergo mental health counseling.

Josh Brolin

Actor Josh Brolin was arrested in July 2008 in Shreveport, Louisiana for interfering with a police officer. The incident occurred in a bar where Brolin, actor Jeffrey Wright and six other crew members were celebrating the completion of the movie they were working on, Oliver Stone's "W." Bush.

According to the police reports, Brolin interfered when police tried to arrest a bar patron for being drunk and disorderly. Brolin and Wright were peppered sprayed and arrested. The charges were later dropped.

Wesley Snipes

The mugshot of Wesley Snipes was taken after he was convicted and sentenced in April 2008 on three counts of failing to file his income tax returns.

Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison, which his lawyers fought vigorously to have dismissed. But in Nov. 2010, Snipes lost his appeals and in the following month he reported to the Federal Correctional Institution McKean near Lewis Run, Pennsylvania. He is expected to be released in July 2013.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton was arrested on August 27, 2010 by the Las Vegas police for possession of cocaine. According to reports, police stopped a car Hilton was riding in when they smelled what they thought was marijuana coming from the car. Cocaine was found in her purse after a search was made. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Lindsay Lohan

Ron Artest

On March 5, 2007, Ron Artest was arrested for domestic violence and using force to keep a victim from reporting a crime. As a result of his arrest he was excused from the Sacramento Kings by GM Geoff Petrie.

On March 10, The Kings announced that Artest would return to work while his case is being reviewed by the Placer County District Attorney.

Mischa Barton

Mischa Barton, 22, was charged with DUI and possession of pot stemming from her December 27, 2007 arrest after she was stopped on a traffic violation in West Hollywood.

She was charged with driving under the influence, driving while having a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent or higher, driving without a valid license and possession of 28.5 grams or less of marijuana.

Nina Dobrev

Nina Dobrev, star of The Vampire Diaries, was one of five arrested for disorderly conduct. The group included co-starts Candice Accola, 22, Kayla Ewell, 24, and Sara Canning, 22, along with photographer Tyler Shields and actress Krystal Vayda.

Chace Crawford

Chace Crawford, 24, "Gossip Girl" star, was arrested Friday, June 4, 2010, in Dallas on a misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana. Police said Crawford was in a parked car when he was arrested for having less than two ounces of marijuana.

Jeffrey Donovan

In February 2011, Donovan dodged a drunken driving conviction by pleading guilty to a lesser charge of reckless driving. He paid $1,000 fine and was sentenced to six-months probation.

Robert Downey, Jr.

June 23, 1996 - Robert Downey, Jr. was arrested for driving drunk and being in possession of Mexican Black Tar heroin, crack, cocaine and an unloaded .357 Magnum revolver. He was sentenced to three years probation.

December 8, 1997 - Downey was sentenced to six months in jail for violating parole.

November 25, 2000 - Downey was arrested for cocaine and Valium possession and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

April 24, 2001 - Downey was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Bill Gates

Gates was arrested in Albuquerque in 1977 for running a stop sign and driving without a license. Apparently, Gates had a hard time sticking to driving laws. In 1975, he was arrested for speeding and driving without a license and in 1989, he was arrested for suspicion of driving drunk, but the charges were later reduced.

Mick Jagger

In 1972, Jagger, Keith Richards and three others were arrested on charges of assault and obstructing justice after getting into a brawl with a photographer. The group pleaded guilty, were released, and the charges dropped.

Michael Jackson

Pop singer Michael Jackson faced charges of conspiracy to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion, three counts of committing lewd acts upon a child, attempted lewd acts upon a child, and four counts of administering intoxicating agents to assist in the commission of a felony. Jackson entered a plea of not guilty to the ten felony counts on April 30, 2004.

On June 13, 2005 Jackson was found not guilty of all charges by a jury in San Maria, California.

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested on Jan. 23, 2008 by the Border Patrol at at checkpoint in Yuma County, AZ, after officers searched the 25 year-old rapper's tour bus and allegedly found marijuana, cocaine, Ecstasy and handguns. On Feb. 8, Carter pleaded not guilty to the charges of one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Larry King

In 1971, King was arrested for grand larceny, and pleaded no contest to one of 14 charges of passing bad checks.

Shia LaBeouf

"Indiana Jones" and "Transformers" star Shea LaBeouf on November 2, 2008, in Chicago after refusing to leave a Walgreens store at 2 a.m. According to reports, a security guard asked an allegedly intoxicated LaBeouf to leave the store, but she ignored his request. LeBeouf was charged with criminal trespassing.

Matthew McConaughey

In 1999, McConaughey was arrested at his home in Austin, Texas for resisting arrest and possession of marijuana. The police were responding to a disturbance call after a neighbor complained of loud music. According to police reports, McConaughey was found dancing around naked and playing bongo drums with a friend, Cole Hauser. The drug charges were dropped, but McConaughey pled guilty for violating Austin's noise ordinance and he paid a $50 fine.

Heather Locklear

On November 17, 2008, actress Heather Locklear was charged with driving under the influence of prescription medications, stemming from her arrest on September 27.

John Mayer

On Aug. 30, 2009, John Mayer challenged TMZ's Harvey Levin to find his mugshot that was taken on May 26, 2001 after he was arrested in Atlanta, Ga. for driving with a suspended license. Mayer posted on Tweeter, "If Harvey Levin at TMZ can produce my mugshot, I will donate 25k to the charity of his choice."

It took Levin about 14 hours to find this never before seen mugshot. Now the big question is, will Mayer pay up?

Sonja Morgan

One of the "Real Housewives of New York City," Sonja Morgan, 46, was arrested in Southampton, New York, on May 31, 2010, for allegedly driving drunk. Morgan, who was one of the newest housewives on the popular Bravo series at the time, failed a field sobriety test then refused to be tested with a breathalyzer.

Nicole Richie

On December 11, 2006, Nicole Richie, known for her role in the reality show "The Simple Life" and adopted daughter of Lionel Richie, was arrested in Burbank, California and was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. According to the police reports other motorists called 911 after seeing the car she was driving going the wrong direction on an exit ramp off the 134 Freeway in Burbank. She admitted to using marijuana and Vicodin before driving the car.

Mickey Rourke

Actor Mickey Rourke was arrested on Nov. 8, 2007, for driving under the influence in Miami Beach, Florida. Rourke was riding a scooter when he was pulled over and arrested at 4:20 a.m. then booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail.

The 51-year-old actor was pulled over after he made an illegal U-turn and had a hard time gaining control of his scooter. When questioned about how much he had to drink, he reportedly told police, "I'm not drunk, I didn't even drink that much."

After failing a field-sobriety test and an alcohol breath test he was arrested and charged.

Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi

Jersey Shore reality television star, Snooki whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, was arrested on July 30, 2010, for disorderly conduct. According to media reports, the 22-year-old actress was arrested and taken to the police department after acting in a disorderly fashion on the beach.

Reportedly the police first came to merely escort Snooki off the beach after receiving a call that she was falling over people. However, after she became belligerent she was arrested.

Witnesses said she was yelling and cursing at the police and appeared to be intoxicated.

Dressed in a top with the word "SLUT" written across the front, she allegedly told the police that they would be sorry for arresting her. Soon after she was handcuffed and taken away to the police station. Hours later she was released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in court in mid-August.

Charlie Sheen

Actor Charlie Sheen was arrested in Aspen on Dec. 25, 2009 after investigating a 911 call from his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen. According to the police, Sheen was arrested after the police found a "serious" domestic incident had occurred at the couple's home.

Sheen was arrested and charged with second-degree felony assault, felony menacing and criminal mischief. A mandatory protection order was also issued preventing Sheen from having any contact with his wife until the case is settled.
