Tsunami debris lies across a railway track in the town of Ofunato in Iwate prefecture on March 14, 2011 three days after an 8.9 magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami hit the region. Economists say it is still too early to assess the cost of the destruction from the record 8.9-magnitude quake and the 10-metre wall of water that laid waste to swathes of the northeastern coast and triggered an atomic emergency.

Anyone who has ever shopped at Ralphs store in Westwood across the street from UCLA between 10:00 p.m. thru 2:00 a.m., on any day of the week has probably had to stand in line behind 12-15 asian students laden with their cases of beer, bottles of wine, vodka, or tequila, etc. How come UCLA police aren’t going after those under-aged Asian students hanging around offering $$ to adult shoppers to go into Ralphs and buy them some booze? Of course, that is illegal. Asian students: instead of buying booze, how about donating your $$ to the victims of the tsunami in Japan or even to the local food banks for the next month.
